Apple and its iOS Maps application have gotten a lot of flack for the lack of quality and features within the navigation, and rightfully so, but it turns out the app tends to give better directions than the Google Maps and Waze competitors.
I have only used Apple Maps a handful of times, but use Waze every weekday as a commuter companion. I’d definitely say Apple or Google Maps are better for getting to an unknown destination. But then again, in Waze’s instance, I’d say it is more of a commuting crowd-sourcing app for learning about issues along your commuting route, rather than an app intended for getting to an unknown locale.
