Updating my iPhone 5 this morning, I saw that Amazon Cloud Player has been renamed to Amazon Music.
With this, it looks like Amazon Prime members get free unlimted access to 1 million + songs and and it’s ad-free.
You can also download the tracks to your iOS device for offline play.
As long as the stuff you want to listen to is in there, and you’ve got the $99/year Amazon Prime membership (which breaks down to $8.25), a month, it seems like a no-brainer to utilize this over Spotify, Pandora or iTunes’ streaming solutions.
Some time with their streaming library will determine that. Though, iTunes Match’s offering is a lot cheaper at $24.99 a year (about $2.08 a month).
The more I think about it, I’m likely to keep both iTunes Match and utilize Amazon Music as a secondary source on occasion (since we already have and use Amazon Prime for the shipping savings alone.
