I love this time of year— the days are longer and warmer, and there’s plenty of opportunities to ride. But it’s also the time where all the big bike manufacturers start showing off new toys— as the Tour de France looms right around the corner. I’ve never owned a Trek bike, but respect their technology and appreciate their sponsorship of both the pros and local clubs. Their visual designs are always a little gaudy for my taste, but I like the understated design they’ve done for the Schleck brothers’ bikes. See what I mean on the gaudy designs though when you look at the Spartacus’ Madone. Bleh.
It’s not to say any bike companies designs are perfect. My personal bike manufacturer crush—Specialized has had a tendency to put their logotype on every possible tube and surface possible, though it seems they’ve gotten a little better over time on that one.
