back-to-the-future-toyota2015 is a great year for Back to the Future trilogy fans. It’s the 30th anniversary and there are several re-release and new BTTF-themed tie-in promotions.

The Toyota Mirai will go on sale in the United States on October 21, 2015, which is also the futuristic date first introduced in Back to the Future II.

But it’s also bringing back some of the original tie-ins like Toyota.

Toyota has already released a series of teaser videos about its late October announcement with further BTTF homages. The best of the already released video is the one featuring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd sitting down, discussing what has and hasn’t come true from the 2015 of Back to the Future II

It sounds though like a red-letter date in Back to the Future fans, October 21, 2015 will be a big one for Toyota as well:

While the Toyota Mirai represents the Japanese automaker’s vision of the future, Back to the Future enthusiasts will remember Marty McFly’s was a tricked out Toyota truck. Naturally, the company will have a Tacoma recreation of that famous 4×4 and we’ll find out where that will be headed come October 21 – but our guess would be the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Toyota Mirai Introduction Will Celebrate Back to the Future

Besides the Michael J. Fox Christopher Lloyd one, there are two other teaser videos, with a fourth to be launched next week. The Statler one is great, with references to both the original in the trilogy and the third film, selling Hill Valley its original 4×4.

It’s cool the Lloyd/Fox one was already released. It’ll be interesting to see how the fourth teaser video and the actual Mirai launch will top that video for Back to the Future trilogy fanboys and technology fans alike.
