ICYMI, Google Fiber Coming to North Carolina

Just in case you missed all the excitement yesterday, cause you heads down crazy busy, like I was, Google Fiber announced in Downtown Raleigh that they are starting the process of bringing Google Fiber to North Carolina.

We’re in the process of moving to another part of the Triangle, but it looks like we’ll be covered pretty much wherever we go. Google Fiber will be coming to Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Durham, Morrisville, Cary, Raleigh and Garner.

The best part is that it hopefully will spur competition. If the pricing follows where it is in other cities, at $70 a month, that will match our current cost with Time Warner Cable, but double our speed. We’ll definitely be an early adopter of this when we purchase our next home in the Triangle.

It’s also coming to Charlotte, as well as Atlanta, Nashville and Atlanta.
