I got an email the other day from the Foo Fighters mailing list that the “cat was out of the bag” regarding their eighth album release, along with an HBO documentary following them as they recorded the album in a bunch of different studios and cities.
The weird thing though, is that if you go to the link provided in the email (http://www.foofighters.com/us/news/foo-fighters-commemorate-eighth-album-20th-anniversary-hbo-series-documenting-eight-city-record?cid=nl%3A91456602, it goes to an announcement of Taylor Hawkins’ side project, Birds of Satan, and the new album/documentary announcement is nowhere to be found. It’s nowhere to be found in their new archive either.
Did someone let the announcement slip prematurely, or is this a way to generate hype? Or is it both?
Regardless, articles still exist throughout the web talking about it though:
