I tweeted out about this earlier today, but thought it was cool enough to actually post about. The classic “Like a Rolling Stone” by Bob Dylan finally has a video of sorts as a promotional tool for the Bob Dylan box set .
At first glance, I was thinking, “what’s the big deal? They’ve got some TV channels with Dylan’s song playing in the background.
But look at it closer. Each channel has the actors/people’s mouths synced with the song. On top of that, you can seamlessly flip through the channels and the song and video streams stay in sync. It includes doctored footage from shows such as The Price is Right, Pawn Stars, etc.
This was done in Flash, and I highly doubt this could be done just in HTML video player’s tag with some JS tacked on, though I’d love someone a lot more talented than myself give that a go.
I can see this type of deal end up a popular meme — selfishly hoping someone replicates this for some classic Van Halen tracks.
