Amazon.com Prime

Amazon.com PrimeThe Amazon Prime membership continues to become more and more feature-rich. Today in Raleigh, North Carolina, Amazon.com launched one-hour and two-hour delivery. The two-hour delivery is free, while the one-hour delivery tacks on $7.99. Both are exclusive to Amazon Prime members.

The service, called Amazon Prime Now, offers “tens of thousands of daily essentials,” and is available through a specialized mobile app that can be downloaded on iOS and Android

After installing the app, there’s also a coupon code to get $10 off your first order (10PRIMENOW).

Prime Now deliveries do require a minimum order of $20.00, but that’s rarely a problem in buying from Amazon.

I can’t imagine why most things couldn’t be done with the free two-hour delivery. Either way, consider this another way Amazon is competing with local brick and mortar retail locations.

Raleigh marks the 25th U.S. city that Amazon has added to their same-day delivery service.
