Use Firefox? Use it on more than one computer? Have I got a great little piece of software for you. Man, that sounds like an infomercial, but it wasn’t meant to. I’m just excited to share a piece of software that fufills a fruitful task in my everyday computer life.
Back in the day, I used to have a .Mac account (what has now become Apple’s MobileMe), and I loved that it could sync your bookmarks across several computer’s Safari browsers, but Safari and I (as well as .Mac) fell out of favor. After that, it took awhile to find software that could do something similar for Firefox. I wrote a year and a half ago about Foxmarks, and just wanted follow up now that the plugin has continued to evolve, now under the name of Xmarks, as it’s no longer Firefox exclusive. Though I rarely use OS X’s Safari browser, it does now sync with that now, which means all my browsers and now my iPhone all have the same set of bookmarks — very convenient. While I haven’t personally utilized it, it also syncs bookmarks with Internet Explorer and Google’s Chrome. It also now syncs passwords between your computers’ browsers as well.
Check it out if, you haven’t already. I highly recommend it. It works flawlessly and efficiently.
