Hope they’d never have to use it but it’s a pretty cool escape system:
Archive for the Space Stuff & NASA CategoryPretty cool pics of our universe: Hopefully, Atlantis will liftoff today in the 11am hour. I love the picture with this article though. That’s priceless! Another One-Day Delay For Space Shuttle Launch Edit: Looks like another delay. They’ll try again Saturday. Man, the shuttle fleet and NASA are not aging well! Man, it’s hard to have good feelings about Atlantis going up. It hasn’t been up in quite a long time (Discovery has been up twice since the Columbia accident) and then a few days ago it got struck by lightning, and now it’s been sent back to the Vehicle Assembly Building, only to turn back around half way. It’s on its way back to the launch pad. I don’t have the warm and fuzzies with this launch. Man, these shuttles never seem to launch on their initial times and dates!

NASA Hopes Competition Spurs Commercial Space GrowthPosted by: Keefer in Space Stuff & NASAInteresting. This answers questions as to what will happen between when the NASA shuttle fleet is retired and its replacement goes into service. It will definitely be interested to see if and how this all pans out.

NASA & HDNet Announce High Definition TV Broadcast PartnershipPosted by: Keefer in HDTV Bits, Space Stuff & NASAGood news for those with HDTVs and an interest in the space program. HDNet is definitely going to broadcast any remaining shuttle launches in high definition. The release says they have a contract with NASA through 2010: NASA & HDNet Announce High Definition TV Broadcast Partnership Pretty cool, if it happens. I hadn’t heard about the Helium isotope either. That sounds promising too: |
