Strange place for a Van Halen-related article sighting — the October 2009 issue of MacLife. It seems Alex Van Halen, along with sound engineer Jerry Harvey have had a side company for the past 15 years or so selling high-end in-ear monitors under the name, "Ultimate Ears."
I guess like his brother, using products enough pushes you to create something better and more suited to your needs. The Ultimate Ears aren't just a pair of earbuds you'd grab for casual listening With a list price of $230 they're definitely high end. Too rich for my blood, but I was tickled at my love of Van Halen and the Mac world crossing paths in the pages of "Mac Life."
