Spencer, yeah I'm still riding them. I'm about 195lbs currently, and they've been fine. I've never had any pinch flats (knock on wood) the whole time I've ridden then.

apparently the problem is not that super rare as it happened to my 6700 rear wheel also. The LBS I went through unfortunately tried to hide the fact that Shimano sent me a wheelset in return for the defective rear wheel :(

I had the same exact problem, I noticed the problem while putting on my computer sensor and magnet on the rear wheel. While spinning the rear wheel tring to align the magnet to the sensor the grinding/rubbing noise began. What made it worse I had not even taken the bike for a ride yet. after a few weeks of riding nd about 475 miles later the noise was almost constant and very noticleble to me and the other riders in the group while coasting. So just last week I took the wheel to the bike shop and they discovered the freewheel problem and sent the ultegra rear wheel back to shimano and now they are replacing them with the RS80 wheelset. Hopefully when I get them I will have better luck. Thanks for the post I couldn't fine anyone else who has had the same problem.

[...] just in my local (andby far favorite) bike shop, The Bicycle Chain the other day picking up those new wheels. It seems with bike sales beating out car sales, the 2009 Specialized line is pretty much sold out [...]
