Sick of the Pollen Already

So how many other cyclists (and probably everyone else) are tired of this damn pollen everywhere?

This morning, I rode for a final training ride before the Trikes' time trial out in Mebane tomorrow afternoon with the clip-on aerobars on the Specialized Tarmac Expert. I actually probably went a little harder in the aerobars today than I should have, considering the TT is tomorrow. I'm still amazed at the speed and power I can get in that more aerodynamic tucked position.

But anyway, back to the pollen that's now literally everywhere around here. It gets on and in everything. Case in point – riding this morning, the top of my water bottle had a ring of yellow, the GPS cyclocomputer dispkay had to keep being wiped because of the yellow dusting of buildup and even my skin had patches and spots of pollen. But by far, the most disgusting part was the nasty grit that kept building up in my mouth. I could literally taste the grit and had to actually wipe my front teeth multiple times throughout my just over hour-long ride this morning. So disgusting!

As for our Time Trial tomorrow, onlnne registration is now closed but there is still a chance to register on site. Details can be found at TriCyclists.com.
