Van Halen Frankenstrat ReplicaHoly crap, that’s a ton of money for $500 worth of parts. It’s one help of a replica though – complete with ‘71 quarter, cigarette burns, etc. But, anyone who buys this is putting it in a display case somewhere. I would never expect to see someone playing one of these onstage or even in your garage. If you wanted to do either of those things, you’ve probably already built your own replica for a lot cheaper than the $50,000 price tag on these bad boys.

I’m a huge Van Halen fan, but even so, I can’t imagine spending that kind of dough. It’s a cool [replica] piece of history for sure, but $50,000? Damn!

They’re only making 300 of these, and it’s amazing they haven’t already sold out.

UNC Tar HeelsAh.. ‘98 was a good year for me.. I was in my sophomore year of college and ended up driving to San Antonio with two friends to cheer on the Tar Heels in the Final Four. Unfortunately, we lost that first game to Utah, but Final Four is an amazing accomplishment in Division I basketball.

Fellow Word Press blogger Tar Heel Fan (whose RSS feed I just subscribed to) has a good write-up comparing 2008 to 1998’s season (which by the way.. the Final Four is back in San Antonio again). He makes some good points. One can only hope the Heels make the final outcome more like 2005.

This Season Is Beginning To Look A Lot Like 1998
