Top 15 Leopard Hints

Nothing But PostsBright and early this morning, about 8:30, the Lowe’s installer’s helper came out and started tearing down the crappy fence in preparation for a quality second go at it. Amazingly, but yet not at all surprisingly, a couple whacks from a sledge hammer, and whole sections were coming down minutes.

Many of those sledge hits weren’t full strength. It’s crazy how quickly the sections started falling. We even witnessed one hit from the sledge hammer that brought down not only the one the guy was targeting, but the one next to it.

The two guy crew made short work of the fence. All of the boards were down by about 10am, and the posts are almost all popped out, in part due to the installer’s bright idea of a way to pop the posts out.

40 lbs of Concrete Isn't EnoughThroughout the day, it was reiterated over and over again that we did in fact have complaints out the wazoo, and that our concerns about the structure’s integrity were well-founded. All the posts had only 40 pounds of concrete (pictured there to the left, instead of the 80 they should have. The only ones that did have more than 40 were the “patch” jobs the original installer came back for, and it was evident those did little job. The two separate pours were evident, and did little to help the structure’s integrity. One, possibly two posts were found to not have any concrete.

Anyway, the new installer has our full confidence thus far. He’s been great about communicating what’s going on and what his next steps will be. Tomorrow, we should see the old fence totally removed and posts starting to pop up. Hopefully, this new fence will go up efficiently and correctly. We’re still appalled at the Lowe’s store and corporate offices for their lack of intervention, placing it all on the installer’s back, but he’s handling it better that the two combined.
