Wow, this sounds interesting. Too bad, the initial releases are PC only. I’ll have to keep my eyeballs peeled for the eventual Universal release for us OS X guys.

Filter Forge Announces Series of Free Photoshop Plug-ins

So we’ve already packed a bunch in this weekend, and still have tomorrow.. kinda Monday for me too, since I’m working from home.

Where to start? Got up this morning, got both of the car’s oils changed and tires rotated. It looks like the Altima may be leaking some fluids now. Bleh

Then we went and ran some errands, including picking up a wireless adapter for our TiVo. We now have three standalone TiVos in the house with the one we inherited from Amanda’s dad. That one is in the game room and man was it a pain in the ass to get going! It has an old version of the software (two full versions behind), and that old version still required a phone call for the initial two calls of the guided setup. Well TiVo and Vonage don’t play real nice together.

TiVo Guy LogoSo anyway, I spent hours on that tonight, trying to get the TiVo to make it through a whole data download. It got there partially sometimes, and others wouldn’t even connect. I finally called TiVo tech support and the guy didn’t know his stuff real well, but basically told me what I already feared – that I needed to really take it to someone’s house that had a regular phone line.

Miraculously, almost as soon as I got off the phone, TiVo completed its initial data call. The next screen noted that a wireless adapter had been detected and that I could go into settings to use that. Now why couldn’t they have done that prior to the dialing screen? Well they do now – just not back when 7.x was running on the TiVos. So anyway, it’s rebooting as I write this, having downloaded the newest software via WiFi. Man, it’s so much faster with a WiFi connection.

I’m mildly excited about having this TiVo in the game room, as in the cooler months, I spend more time in there, riding on the trainer. While I’ve got more old TV shows I can watch while riding, I look forward to having TV to watch too. I’m thinking Carolina basketball and cycling will top that list.

We also are finally getting our fence reinstalled. After multiple letters, emails and even contact with the local ABC affiliate, the new fence is finally coming down, with a new one right behind it. The new installer so far seems on top of his game, even pushing up the demolition to tomorrow, instead of Monday. Supposedly, a dumpster will be arriving first think in the morning. We’ll see. We’re a bit jaded, but I’m optimistic the second try is going to go smoother.
