I love creative 404 (page not found) error pages, and Smashing Magazine has a whole collection of them today. My favorite one from Homestar Runner even made it. I also like the one, "Oops, you're a douche bag."
I've got my 404 pages set now to redirect the home page, but I used to have the street sign deal idea in mine, albeit a lot older and it was a lot less cool.
