The opening act for Miss Clarkson was the Graham Colton Band at the Cricket Arena in Charlotte, NC, July 24, 2005. Nothing special about GCB honestly and I think that a lot of the audience saw them as a lot different than Kelly Clarkson’s music. Both are rock-oriented though. GCB were fine, but nothing spectacular. They came right on at 7:30 and were off right at 8:00, which is perfect for an opening act.

Then Kelly came right out at 8:30. The set was pretty cool. There was a little part of the stage that jutted out into the middle of the audience. Several horizontal light bars that could change colors (kind of like those new Aqueous TVs) werea ll over the stage. The main lights spanned vertically up the stage on four diagonal towers covered with curtains. Then above that, were two flat panel screens that off and on showed Kelly’s eyes blinking, looking up, down, left and right. That was kind of weird.

Sweet! This is great news for the local bike trails:

Well, I’ve been about for two days in Kansas City for a two-day National Sales/Marketing Meeting in our Corporate office. The meeting was great and I met the entire sales and marketing staff for my company, which is a huge opportunity because these types of meetings only take place every 4-5 years. Let me tell you, these people know how to throw down. They can party with the best of ‘em. :)

My connecting flight home in Atlanta was a nightmare. It was delayed because of other flights being re-directed and delayed. This was causing me to miss my flight to RDU. So I was able to rebook on a flight into Greensboro (which is an hour away from Durham). Anyhow, I get on the flight from KC to ATL and arrive in Atlanta, just to find our the RDU flight is still sitting there 1.5 hours after the scheduled departure. I get on the flight to RDU around 12:30AM and then we proceed to sit in the plane until 1:30AM. I land in RDU at 3AM Friday morning. UGH.

I had a deadline at 2PM Friday afternoon, which means I am going to work bright and early.

Needless to say, I left early yesterday after delivering the submittal to the NCDOT Materials Unit.

Hooray! The weekend is here!

Glad to be back with my fiance and my favorite little beagle. I missed the boys and I am most definitely glad this week has come to an end.

Man, there are a lot of great games from the past, just on the first freakin’ page.

I hope that some of the info in this article is just being alarmist. This paragraph is especially disturbing:

“Unless engineers can find a comprehensive solution to the debris problem, the fleet may be permanently grounded, the International Space Station may be abandoned, and the agency’s credibility may be eroded as it attempts to win public confidence for a more daring era of space travel, observers said yesterday.”

Anyone that has any computer knowledge always scoffs at the way computers are depicted and operating on the big screen. Here’s a list of how computers work in the non-real world:
