Turns out Apple’s been running OS X on Intel platforms for the past five years. Steve Jobs just confirmed that Apple is switching to Intel-based machines and those will start shipping a year from now:

Apple’s WWDC keynote starts in about three minutes. There are rumors swiriling about what Apple will be announcing. 2GB iPod Shuffle? Transition to Intel processors? Tablet? I guess we’ll see soon enough.
