So I spent a fair amount of hours this weekend working on cars. Saturday, JC and I swapped the Celica’s cold air intake’s filter from a K&N gauze cone filter to a nice foam True Flow filter.
Then, Sunday, I met him over at his place early to put his new head unit in his ride. He was running late, but it ended up giving me time to go over the Celica’s wiring. Lately, it had been having a lot of intermittant problems with road nose and feedback. Going over bumps would make it better or worse. Anyway, turned out to just be a lose RCA cable on the amp hidden behind the subwoofer box. It sounds so much better one again! It’s a major relief that it wasn’t a dying amp or head unit.
Now I just need to find a ground loop isolater to get rid of a little alternator noise that still comes through (and always had since I’ve had my system).
