So I put in my two weeks at Apple. I’ve got mixed feelings about leaving there. I’ve got no real complaints about the place, nor the people there. The only reason I’m leaving is because working two jobs and finding time for everything else just isn’t working for me. I’ve been sick multiple times this winter already and I rarely get sick. Working the two jobs is part of that.

But I mean really it boils down to not having enough time to spend with Amanda and for getting things done around the house — both house work type stuff and fun stuff. I mean come on. With an XBox now along with the PS2, PC and GameCube, I’ve gotta find time somewhere right?

The management staff at Apple is top notch and supportive. They’re real human beings. It’s a shame that they couldn’t match my salary at my fulltime job, because otherwise I would jump all over it and be a healthy and happy guy. I could take a pay cut, but we’re talking a huge pay cut.

So for now, I’m saying bye to Apple as an employer, but will always be a fan of Apple hardware and software (and will continue to buy). Unfortunately, with leaving Apple, I lose my 4G 20GB iPod so will have to buy one of those. I just have to think of what I want engraved. I talked my sister into getting a Mini and she’ll have the same problem figuring out what to say. I suggested, “Big Mouth, Big Ass, Little iPod.” I don’t think she’ll go for it.

Regardless, I think leaving Apple will be in the best interest of me and the loved ones directly around me. More on this in two weeks.
