Well the season of premieres and pilots is upon us. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s third season premiere of “Smallville,” but the only new show that I’m really diggin is CBS’s “Navy NCIS.”

I just watched the pilot off of TiVo this evening in time to watch the second live right now in living HD. It looks pretty sweet. The other impressive thing is that CBS’s local affiliate is WRAL, which has been a real pioneer in broadcasting HD and all.

While I can’t wait for the day the HD TiVo come out, I don’t mind watching the commercials that run on WRAL HD. They have had some really really cool montage commercials of ACC football, and of the Durham Bulls. While “Navy NCIS” looked really cool in HD, sports just rule in HD!

Anyway, while I miss the time shifting and commercial skipping I can do with TiVo (standard def material only so far), WRAL makes it tolerable to watch a show “live” and have to sit through commercials. :)

I don’t think DirecTV is planning on droppin TiVo anytime soon, as the rumors and crap the past few days would make some believe:
