Here’s another bit of news from about a former member of Van Halen. It looks like Gary has been keeping busy on the stage. Earlier, I remember reading he had done a production of Jesus Christ Superstar too:

From Van Halen To Community Theatre

I eat up any bits of News about those involved with Van Halen. I question if there’s anything about this other, than that he was just jamming. But if it is true, I’m all for it. I love EVH’s music making skills and will take new music from him in any way, shape or form.

In related news, according to a story on MTV.com, reclusive guitar legend Eddie Van Halen was one of 11 axemen who “auditioned” for the position that was finally filled by Mike Smith. Although the story does not elaborate on this rather hard-to-imagine scenario, the website melodicrock.com had plenty to say. According to the site, Durst did call Van Halen and invite him to jam–which Van Halen did–but it was all just for fun. An unnamed source told melodicrock.com, “[To suggest that] Eddie auditioned for anyone is pure and unadulterated bullsh-t and an insult to Ed and anyone who knows him.”
