My weekends in late summer and fall are dominated by football, football and more football. As always, this one’s been enjoyable, though it sucks that both the 49ers and Tar Heels lost this weekend. The Tar Heels just can’t get the job done, and it’s going to be a long season. The 49ers just don’t have a rub game, and Owens 88 Rec. yards, and the Niners didn’t ever get a TD today. *sigh*

At least the Chiefs won. The Panthers didn’t play.

In terms of my fantasy football team, once again, Priest Holmes really helped me out, with two rushing TDs. As it is now, I’m slightly ahead of my opponent 54.57 - 45.21. We each have four players active. I still have Travis Henry tonight, and my defense plays tomorrow night (Oakland). I’m hoping I can hold on and be one of two undefeated teams in our league.

I’ve got next week to figure out what to do too. I’ve got 3 defensive players that have byes next week, and don’t have the backup players to fill in all the holes. One of my backups is Rod Woodson who is doubtful to play. I’m thinking about dropping him, and just leaving an empty roster spot for the other. I always end up not getting too much production out of my D players anyway.

Well I’m getting to see my first San Francisco 49ers game in high definition and in Dolby Digital 5.1. Very cool so far! HD makes football (and all sports I’ve seen) that much cool to watch. There’s a huge difference. I just switched to the TiVo input on the television to make sure TiVo is recording tte game (in standard definition), and it’s a major difference!

Another bonus of HDTV is that it’s widescreen. You get to see more of the field in any given situation. With the Sunday Ticket package on DirecTV, we get a HD game each Sunday, and two Fox WS games. All three are head and shoulders above the standard def. games.

Now if the 49ers can just kick some Browns tail!
