It’s just such a relief realizing I don’t have to go to work tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after…
A little time off should do me good.
Archive for June 18th, 2003I read about Nintendo coming out with this player that snaps onto the bottom of the GameCube and allows, GB, GB Color and GB Advance games to be played on your TV screen. I’ll eventually have to get one of these. EB Games has them available for pre-order with free shipping, though currently they only list the jet black one. I’ll want a platinum one to match my system. Nintendo has said they will make them in all colors, including the orange only available in Japan. I actually saw them talkign about this the other night on HDNet. They had the CEOs from the big cable companies talking about different issues. I acutally think the quotes in this article are taken from the discussion that HDNet broadcast. The “moderator” produced one of these devices from his pocket and iquired about them. These really would free up a lot of bandwidth. I gotta say I love DirecTV and am not going anywhere, but cable is really making an concerted effort to make themselves desireable over DBS. This is the most telling: People are always looking for new ways ans tweaks to get their CPUs to run faster. CPUs run faster in cooler temperatures and this guy decided to take it pretty much to the extreme by putting it in a freezer. It didn’t seem to cost him way too much. While I wouldn’t take the time and effort, I can see how some would find this pretty beneficial. The .ZIP format has always been reliable, efficient AND completely compatible. I hope PKWare amd WinZip can play together peacefully (and with compatibility). Apple is definitely very protective of its properties, adn probably with good reason. I can see Apple’s point. The Samsung does look like a ripoff of the iPod. But then again, no one is going to fairly fugly Samsung hard drive player for Apple’s sleek frost white iPod MP3 players. This is pretty cool — battle of the Windows XP desktop icons. Who will be victorious? I’m all for copyright protection and believe everyone making creative works has a right to have them protected, but destroying hardware? Hatch is way off base on this one. |
