I was checking out my latest issue of Wired earlier and came across a little sidebar article about cyber liberties at US Schools. They listed the best 5, and then also the worst 5.

MIT made it as the best, granting root access to anyone who asks, and runs an anonymous remailer and PGP key server.

Well, UNC made the list, but unfortunately, not the best list, but the 4th worst:

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — Places students in a “penalty box” and publishes the IP and MAC addresses on the WEb if they use too much bandwidth.

I really love the email classification system I use (POPFile) for filtering out all the ol’ SPAM. It seems to work really well, but like any complex computer program, it takes time to train it and all.

Well, mine is finally getting up there in accuracy. Currently, it’s sitting at 90.54% and rising. It’s been really good about not flagging real emails as SPAM, but still occasionally lets some SPAM into my inbox.

I’d highly recommend it to people out there using Outlook and POP-based email.

In the market for a used aircraft carrier? It just so happens one is up for sale:
