Ok, the Nintendo GameCube looks just fine in the different colors, but I don’t like the limited edition PS2s in different colors. I like it just fine in black.

So after getting the wrong answer from Now Audio/Video on the new DirecTiVos, I read on the TiVoCommunity boards that they were expecting a couple more. So I talked to the same guy and he was nice enough to hold one for me and said they expected them at 2 yesterday. Sure enough, they got them in and I picked one up after work. It was even $10 cheaper than my Circuit City pre-order. I went over to CC to cancel my pre-order, but decided to wait to make sure mine worked ok.

Got home and a huge box was blockign the front door. My new guitar arrived too. Sweet! So I setup the DirecTiVo… receiver rocks and it’s cool to have the Dolby Digital sound. But as of now, the TiVo functions still are inoperative, saying I need to contact DTV Customer Service to activate the DVR portion. I think the three calls I made to DTV are sufficient. But I dunno.

Ran into a little snag on the guitar too.. it’s got some hardware on it that I’ve never used. I go to tune it and it doesn’t seem to be changing… Turns out I have to use the fine tuners on the tremelo, or if it need more than fine tuning, I have to loosen the locking nut below the headstock using an allen wrench. Oops! Well I overtightened the E string to more tension than it could handle, and it broke that string. Now I have to figure out how to restring this bad boy.

But I gotta say, the guitar rocks.. great tone and sustain and that Floyd Rose trem is really cool. I was flying through a bunch of VH tunes. Even with 5 strings, it was rocking! Fun stuff!

Anyway, Merry Christmas to me a month early!

Argg, so I’m still waiting to get my DirecTV Series 2 TiVo. Circuit City is taking their sweet ass time getting them in.

Rumor had it that the local Now Audio/Videoes all got a shipment. So I called at 1pm when they opened today. “No we don’t have those yet. We’re expecting them next week.”

Well I just home from racquetball and dinner to find out from someone on TiVoCommunity snagged one there this afternoon. Argg! Stupid fucking salesmen!
