I’ve onyl got an hour til I can duck out for the day.. but man I’m so bored today. There’s only so much surfing one person can do. All I can say is TGIF!

Even dead, damage can be done.. pretty scary stuff!

Yesterday I’m leaving for work and lo and behold, guess what’s on my doorstep? There’s a battered HD box, complete with my correct address and phone number on the shipping slip. I’m glad I left a little bit late for work yesterday. A little earlier and the box would have sat there until John woke up, getting rained on.

So all day I was wanting to get home and confirm that the thing worked. Man, it was so easy installing the thing. Look for a KeefLog entry in a few minutes with some pics of the inside.

The only problem is that the metal mounting bracket for the HD was bent. I’ll blame that one on FedEx. Luckily, a pair of needlenose pliers allowed me to bend that bad boy back into shape. Now the TiVo is supercharged with storage space.

I did have a bit of a headache with it last night though… thing wasn’t changing channels. So I’m playing with all these settings on the TiVo and I’m getting crappy results. I finally put the TiVo remote down and tried the Time Warner Cable box’s remote.. same channel changing problems. So as of this morning, still getting problems, but a tech supposedly is going to be checking our line etc.

I hate it when stuff like that happens in close proximity to a new install or whatever… cause first (and second and third) inclination is the new install is the culprit.

I’m hoping by the time I return from work this evening everything will be back to normal, albeit more programs on the TiVo. hehe
