Man, I jsut don’t get it. How is this a violations of the first amendment. It seems to me that this reading assignment is right on — introducing people to different views, ways of lifes and a different set of beliefs. Sure, you may not agree with it, but what’s wrong with learning? Seems to me that anything that enriches one’s understanding of those different than you seems worthy. The book isn’t asking people to convert, it’s giving some insight into a religion that’s foreign to most of the Carolina campus.
