I got a new PS2 game last week for a good deal on eBay. It’s called Frequency and it’s pretty fun and addicting. You basically have this tube, actually it’s a hollow polygon of sorts, that you’re travelling down and you have to activate different tracks of a song. It’s hard to explain, but easy to learn. I guess it’s kind of a cross between a puzzle game of some sort and one of the dance dance revolution-type games. I really like it.
Rumor is that there’s a Frequency 2 in the works that you’ll be able to play on Sony’s soon-to-be-released network adapter (August 2002).
Anyway, I’ve been playing a fair amount of that game as of late. I was playing a few rounds of it after dinner while it digested, before I headed out for a run.
So I went out for a run and am listening to Best of Van Halen Vol. 1, big surprise, I know! Anyway, “Humans Being” comes on the discman and it seems kind of slow. I check the battery display and I’ve got a full charge. I try holding it in a different orientation. Still no change.
So the only things I can think of is 1) The playback is a bit off on my Discman, 2)My body was sped up to the point that the song seemed slow or 3)playing all that Frequency with its fast techno, pop and rock beats had me expecting faster music. Whatever the reason, it was strange!
