I’ve complained about this more than once. The menus are supposed to be a way to navigate, while retaining the theme of the film on some level, but a lot are taken too far.

I think the Terminator 2 DVD menus are a great example of one that sticks to the movies theme, but still follows the golden rule of design: Form follows function. A lot of DVDs (And Web pages) have the rule reveresed.
