In the middle of the game, a $2 million question is asked, with the value dropping as time passes. Something always happens, allowing Reubens to stall until the value is around $900. While totally staged, it’s funny.

My other fear was that ABC’s YDKJ would not be true to the game, but they are. They have a variety of questions types, including Dis or Dat and the game ends with the Jack Attack. The pace of the game is inherently slower than the computer counterpart, but it works well for a half-hour TV game show.

The contestants so far have been a little on the strange side, but then again, that fits the game.

Overall though, it’s a half hour of fun and laughs. The sarcasm and humor is right up my alley and I hope ABC gives this one more of a chance than they did with the Clerks cartoon awhile back.

Note: ABC yanked You Don’t Know Jack and any reference to it off their Web site after just a few weeks. After the first couple episodes they said people got tired of the format and it wasn’t profitable. This is the second show that I’ve really enjoyed on ABC that’s been yanked prematurely. The first was the Clerks cartoon. Regardless, I thought YDKJ was a good little show while it lasted.
